I am a budding author in the process of writing and illustrating my first book, driven by a bizarre fascination with horrific monsters, eldritch lore and pretty things from the distant past. In my spare time I like to write enormous profiles for my characters, draw monsters to kill them with and overthink every tiny detail of the plot. When I'm neither writing or drawing, I'm most likely playing video games, collecting rocks or looking at pictures of kittens.

Day one of costume building went well!
My cosplay for the Christchurch Armageddon Expo this year will be a full plate version of Forge, from Paranatural. Well... provided nothing goes wrong.

This painting is much more recent than the monarch I just uploaded, painted in the last two weeks in fact. My uploads will be out of order for a while, unfortunately, until I've cleared my backlog. Sadly don't know what species of eagle this is, the reference photo I used didn't say. If you know, feel free to leave a comment and I'll be happy to update the title and description! :)

Monarch at Rest by Primal-Arc
Monarch at Rest
I finished this back in December and only just got around to photographing and correcting it. I hate that part. I'm not a good photographer, okay? I have a big backlog of work to upload of which this is just the first, so bear with me!
This painting of a monarch butterfly perched on an echinacea flower gave me a lot of trouble. I had a hard time emulating depth of a photograph taken so close on such a sunny day, but I got there in the end. Echinaceas are also a menace to draw! All those tiny little tube-shaped flowers...

Okay, I have a bunch of new drawings, but I have to redo the photographs for most of them so bear with me. I'll have them up as soon as possible.

I wish I could be buried in puppies XD
I've been working for a year now, trying to save up for a trip to America and the UK at the moment. I have a website now too and I want to run a blog on it but I keep procrastinating!
